Bio

I was born in Quito, Ecuador, and attended Universidad San Francisco de Quito, where I earned a B.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Finance (2022), including an exchange year at Michigan State University (2019-2020). I later completed an M.A. in Economics at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, Canada (2024), where I was awarded full funding among over 100 applicants.

I am an economist and data specialist with experience leading technically demanding projects across private industry, government, and the nonprofit sector. I currently work as an Economic Analyst at the Government of Alberta's Office of Statistics and Information and serve as co-director of the Ecuadorian Development Research Lab (LIDE), a research nonprofit based in Ecuador and the U.S. I am a member of the Canadian Association for Business Economics (CABE).

My work specializes in applied econometrics, input-output modelling, computable general equilibrium simulations, labour economics, and international trade. I am a seasoned R developer, with experience in Julia, Python, SQL, as well as LLMs and agentic coding. I speak English (fluent), Spanish (native), and French (basic).

Outside of work, I enjoy literature (particularly the novels of Ernesto Sábato), video games, and exploring new food and places. I have a soft spot for open-world RPGs, especially the Fallout series.
