Daniel Sánchez Pazmiño is an economist who builds data and AI tools for official statistics, and an Economic Statistician at the Office of Statistics and Information, Alberta Treasury Board and Finance.

Hi there! I’m Daniel Sánchez, an economist who builds data and AI tools. I work as an Economic Statistician at the Office of Statistics and Information, Alberta Treasury Board and Finance, and hold an M.A. in Economics from Simon Fraser University.

I also build open-source tools that let AI assistants work with official statistics and cite them correctly: MapleStats MCP for Canadian public data and EcuDataMCP for Ecuador’s. I co-direct LIDE, a research nonprofit working on Ecuador, and write about Ecuadorian data at El Quantificador.

My background is in applied econometrics, economic measurement and impact evaluation. I work mainly in R, along with Python, SQL and Julia.
