Hi there! Welcome to my site. I’m Daniel Sánchez, an economist and data specialist with experience leading technically demanding projects across private industry, government, and the nonprofit sector. I currently work as an Economic Statistician at the Government of Alberta’s Office of Statistics and Information, and earned my M.A. in Economics from Simon Fraser University.

My work focuses on economic measurement, impact evaluation, and financial markets, with experience in causal inference, labour economics, and input-output modelling. I also develop software and data tools, with a current focus on AI applications for economic and financial analysis and AI agents. I’m a seasoned R developer with strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and Julia, and for financial and economic data I work extensively with Bloomberg and Haver Analytics.

Here you’ll find my data portfolio with selected work spanning these areas.
